Steps to fix airbag (srs) warning light on

  1. Know what it means: the airbag/SRS light staying on signals the system may not protect you in a collision, even though the car still drives.
  2. Check the simple triggers: a seatbelt not clicked in fully, or a passenger-seat sensor confused by a heavy bag, can sometimes light it — buckle up and clear the seat.
  3. If it appeared right after a weak battery, a jump-start, or a battery change, low voltage can trip the SRS self-test and it may need a proper scan and clear.
  4. Do NOT poke around under the seats or in the steering wheel — airbag components can deploy and injure you, and this is not a DIY area.
  5. This app cannot read the SRS fault code — there is no scanner attached — so it will not guess which part failed.
  6. Because it affects crash protection, get it diagnosed by a professional promptly rather than living with the light on.
