GE oven F7 error

Steps to fix ge oven f7 error

  1. Reset first: switch the oven's breaker OFF for about 3 minutes, then back ON — a one-time stuck-key glitch often clears with a full power cycle.
  2. Look over the keypad: press each button gently to free any that feels stuck, and wipe away grease or cleaner residue that could be holding a key down.
  3. If F7 showed up mid-cooking or right after a self-clean, let the panel fully cool and dry before retrying — heat and moisture can make keys read as stuck.
  4. If F7 comes straight back after the reset with a clean keypad, the usual culprit is the ribbon cable between keypad and control board working loose or getting dirty over time.
  5. Do NOT keep running an oven whose panel beeps or acts on its own — leave it off at the breaker so it can't heat unattended.
  6. Reseating that ribbon cable or replacing the keypad membrane or control board means opening the panel of a 240V appliance — call a licensed appliance-repair tech.
