GE washer not draining (E2/OE)

A GE washer not draining — flagging an E2, E23, or OE drain error — means water isn't leaving the tub fast enough, not that the machine is dead. On a GE front-load washer the drain fault is almost always a clogged pump filter, a kinked drain hose, or a blocked standpipe. Steps to fix ge washer not draining (e2/oe)

  1. Unplug the washer before opening the pump area or draining any water.
  2. Open the access door at the lower-front corner, set a pan and towels down, and slowly drain the water out through the small emergency hose.
  3. Twist out the drain-pump filter and clear lint, coins, and the classic missing baby sock; check the impeller spins freely.
  4. Straighten the drain hose behind the machine and confirm the standpipe it feeds into isn't itself clogged.
  5. Run a drain/spin to confirm the water leaves; scoop out any remaining standing water first so you can see it working.
  6. If the drain error returns with a clean filter and clear hose, the drain pump or pressure sensor is failing and needs a pro.
