LG dishwasher OE error

The LG dishwasher OE error means water isn't draining out — it is a drain fault, usually from a food clog, a kinked drain hose, or an installation issue. On an LG dishwasher the OE code is one of the most fixable faults, since most of the blockage is in the filter or hose you can reach. Show SightLine the tub filter and the under-sink hose and a plumber persona walks you through clearing the LG OE error.

Steps to fix lg dishwasher oe error

  1. Turn the dishwasher off and scoop out the standing water in the tub bottom.
  2. Twist out the filter at the tub floor and rinse away food and grease; clear the sump area beneath it.
  3. Under the sink, straighten any kink in the drain hose and check for a clog where it connects.
  4. If the dishwasher is newly installed and draining through a garbage disposal, confirm the disposal's drain knockout plug was punched out — a common OE cause on new installs.
  5. Make sure the drain hose has the proper high loop or air gap so water can't siphon back.
  6. Reassemble and run a rinse cycle; if OE stays with a clean filter and clear hose, the drain pump needs a pro to check.

Safety first: if a step calls for gas, a main water or sewer line, a service panel or main breaker, or a sealed refrigerant system, stop and call a licensed pro — Repair Copilot will tell you when you're there.
