LG dryer D80/D90 error

The LG dryer D80, D90, and D95 errors mean the exhaust airflow is restricted — D80 is 80% blocked, D90 is 90%, D95 is 95% — and the dryer shuts down to avoid overheating. Steps to fix lg dryer d80/d90 error

  1. Unplug the dryer before working on the vent path.
  2. Pull and clean the lint filter thoroughly — wash off any fabric-softener film with warm water and let it dry fully.
  3. Disconnect the flexible vent hose from the back and clear the lint packed inside it; a foil hose with a sharp 90-degree bend restricts airflow almost like a full clog.
  4. Push the dryer out a bit so the vent hose isn't crushed against the wall.
  5. Go outside and clear the exterior vent flap of lint, and confirm the flap opens freely when the dryer runs.
  6. Reconnect, plug in, and run a cycle; a blocked dryer vent is a leading cause of house fires, so if D80/D90 returns with a clear path, have a vent-cleaning or appliance pro inspect the full duct run.
