LG washer IE error
The LG washer IE error means water isn't reaching the machine — IE is a water-inlet fault. On an LG washer the IE code usually points to a closed or half-open supply valve, a kinked fill hose, or a clogged inlet screen where the hoses attach. Show SightLine the water valves and fill hoses behind the washer and SightLine walks you through fixing the LG IE error.

Steps to fix lg washer ie error
- Check both water faucets behind the washer are turned fully ON — a half-open hot or cold valve is the most common IE cause.
- Look along the fill hoses for a kink or crush where they run behind the machine and straighten them out.
- Turn OFF both supply valves, unscrew the fill hoses at the back of the washer, and check the little mesh inlet screens for sediment or scale — rinse them clean.
- Reconnect the hoses snugly (don't over-tighten the plastic threads), turn the valves back on, and watch for leaks.
- If your home has very low water pressure, IE can appear even with everything open — test the faucet flow into a bucket to confirm decent pressure.
- If water flows fine to the machine but it still shows IE, the inlet valve on the washer has failed and needs replacing by a pro.
Safety first: if a step calls for gas, a main water or sewer line, a service panel or main breaker, or a sealed refrigerant system, stop and call a licensed pro — Repair Copilot will tell you when you're there.
