LG washer LE error

The LG washer LE error means the motor is locked — the control tried to spin the tub and it wouldn't turn. On an LG washer the LE code is usually an overloaded drum, a foreign object jammed between the drum and tub, or a worn hall sensor or rotor on the motor. Steps to fix lg washer le error

  1. Unplug the washer and wait a full five minutes — this resets the control, and LG's own first fix for a one-time LE is exactly this power reset.
  2. Open the door, pull the laundry out, and turn the drum slowly by hand — if it catches or grinds, a coin, bra wire, or small sock is likely jammed between the drum and tub and needs to come out.
  3. If the tub was packed full, run a smaller load — an overloaded drum strains the motor until the control reads it as locked.
  4. Wash big single items like comforters on the bedding cycle, which LG recommends for bulky loads that would otherwise trip LE.
  5. Plug back in and run a rinse and spin with a normal load, watching whether the drum turns freely and gets up to speed.
  6. If LE returns after the reset with nothing jammed and a reasonable load, the motor's hall sensor, rotor, or control unit is failing — that diagnosis is an appliance-repair tech's job.
