Outlet not working

Steps to fix outlet not working

  1. Test the outlet with something you know works (a phone charger or lamp) to confirm it's truly dead.
  2. Look for a nearby GFCI outlet (kitchen, bath, garage, outdoors) with a tripped "reset" button and press it.
  3. Check the breaker panel for a tripped breaker — flip it fully OFF, then back ON.
  4. See if the outlet is controlled by a wall switch that's turned off.
  5. If resets don't restore power, stop — anything inside the box or panel is licensed-electrician work.
