Steps to fix samsung washer 5e error

  1. Unplug the washer before opening the filter or draining any water.
  2. Open the debris-filter door at the lower-front corner, put a pan and towels down, and drain the water through the small hose behind it.
  3. Twist out the filter and clear lint, coins, and gunk; check the impeller behind it spins freely.
  4. Straighten the drain hose behind the machine and clear any clog where it enters the standpipe or under-sink connection.
  5. Make sure the drain hose isn't inserted more than a few inches into the standpipe — too deep, and it siphons or mis-reads as a drain fault.
  6. Plug in and run a spin/drain; if 5E returns with everything clear, the drain pump is failing and needs a pro to replace.
