Steps to fix tv won't turn on

  1. Look for a standby light on the TV — is it on, off, or blinking? A blink pattern is a clue.
  2. Do a power-cycle: unplug the TV from the wall, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in (drains stuck power).
  3. Confirm the outlet works and skip any power strip or surge protector by plugging straight into the wall.
  4. Check the remote — try the power button ON the TV itself, or swap the remote's batteries.
  5. Cycle through inputs (HDMI 1/2, etc.) in case it's on but showing a blank source.
  6. If the standby light is dead with good power, or it blinks a fault code, it likely needs a service tech.
