Steps to fix whirlpool washer f35 and sud error

  1. Unplug the washer for five full minutes, plug it back in, and retry the cycle — a one-time F35 trip clears with this power reset.
  2. Check your detergent — anything but HE detergent in these front-loaders leaves residue that fouls the pressure sensor F35 points at, and that residue is why SUD shows up alongside it.
  3. If the code returns, unplug the washer again before opening anything, then check the small air hose that runs to the water-level pressure sensor — a pinched, kinked, or leaking pressure hose is a classic F35 cause.
  4. Check the sensor's connector where it plugs in at the control — a loose or half-seated connector reads exactly like a dead sensor, so unplug it and press it back until it seats.
  5. Put everything back, plug in, and run a short cycle — if the drum is genuinely suds-free and F35 still lands with SUD, the sensor is misreporting rather than the soap misbehaving.
  6. The lasting fix at that point is a new analog pressure sensor — and when F35 and SUD keep coming back together after that, the central control unit itself can be at fault, and board-level diagnosis is an appliance-repair pro's job.
